Over the course of time, the natural whiteness of your teeth can fade and our day to day lifestyle, habits and diet can darken their colour. Many of us drink tea, red wine and coffee on a daily basis which can gradually stain the teeth; smoking can also have a significant impact. Whitening treatments can help restore their natural whiteness, boosting your confidence and giving you a smile to be proud of.
The most effective and long lasting method of tooth whitening is to have bespoke trays made to fit your teeth and by placing whitening gel inside them and then onto your teeth. This is done over a period of 10-14 days for a minimum of 2 hours per session. It is important that you visit a dentist to do this and use the correct sort of gel to prevent any damage to your gums.
Dr Edwards will check if this is an appropriate treatment for you and then take some impressions of your teeth. The impressions are sent to a lab where they specialise in making whitening trays. You will then be instructed on how to use the gel, get the best results and how to maintain your new brighter, whiter smile. A pre-whitening shade and photo are taken.
